Random Axe Live - London 20/10/2011

Random Axe were in the big smoke last week and TheRapBuzz was of course there to show support and no doubt pap a show that promised to be rough, rugged and raw! We headed down to Scala where Jehst (yep, we've seen him way too many times live this year haha...) opened up alongside Micall Parknsun - pretty standard set from Billy Brimstone apart from an outstanding rendition of 'England' acapella, but the rest was below par compared to his usual live shows these days which I suggest you go check out! Mr.Thing then stepped up to the 1's and 2's and raised the roof blasting classic after classic including Wu-Tang's 'Triumph', Biggie's 'Ten Crack Comandments' and 'Kick In The Door', Fat Joe & Big Pun's 'Twinz' just to mention a few.

After a 30 minute or so set, the crowd was sweating and ready for some raw live rap! Sean P stepped on stage rapping 'Figure 4' and Guilty Simpson shortly after followed suit with 'Mic Check 313' and the stage was set for a memorable Hip Hop show! The trio performed most of their new album, a few solo tracks and Sean P blessed us with a new joint from his upcoming album 'Mic Tyson.' The energy from Sean P stood out for the whole duration, staring into the eyes of the listeners, really making you feel the intensity of his lyrics. The best moment of the show was undoubtedly the rendition of 'The Hex', 'Random Call' and 'Everybody Somebody Nobody' one after the other without interruption! The show ended with Guilty's ode to J.Dilla 'Cali Hills' all acapella...beautiful ending to a great show!

Here's a couple clips from the show - you can see more on our Youtube channel
